I believe this occurs because the teambuilder is recognising them as being in the category "OU" instead of "New" or "Bank" , which it reads as being invalid — an error on the developers’ part I assume. The validity checker seems fine with them, so this won’t actually affect gameplay; you’ll just have to search instead of scroll through the list for your Pokemon. I’m not sure why these Pokemon are listed in the "OU" category, but all the ones I’ve come across seem to be some of the more popular Pokemon in the game right now. I think what you’ve encountered is a minor error in Showdown’s teambuilder at the moment, as I was able to locate Garchomp’s listing as being "banned" as well.
In addition to his work on every major Pokémon game and many of the theatrical movies, Sugimori has also contributed a great deal of art to the TCG. As you can tell from the image above, Ancient Mew’s text was unreadable due to being written in a Runic alphabet.
An Update On No-Fuss Secrets In ROMs
"Forest of Giant Plants" was finally removed from tournament play due to the belief that its ability enabled far too many unfair strategies which relied on Grass Pokémon. The next two entries we’ll be looking at were another pair of cards that had bans which went hand in hand. After two years of legal play, the Trainer Card "Forest of Giant Plants" was officially banned in July 2017 from all sanctioned tournaments using the Expanded format. Like many of the entries on our list, both versions of the Trainer Card "Sabrina’s Gaze," were done by Ken Sugimori, the lead character designer and art director for the Pokémon franchise.
Practical Secrets For ROM Games

"For us, for fans, for The Pokémon Company too – it’s not a good signal for their brand."We’re very close to them and we have to do right by the brand, by our players and Niantic. Pokemon Go developer Niantic has explained why third-party tracking apps like Pokevision were banned. Despite technically being two different cards , both cards share the same abilities and stats, meaning they were banned alongside each other.
To be clear, Mic does not condone pirating Pokémon Sun and Moon. But if you already downloaded the ROM and you’re worried you might get banned, here’s everything you need to know.
- This one is for Game Boy Advance and it’s decent for a newer emulator.

It’s also absent from the main teambuilder list and only appears if you search for it. However, this problem only seems to affect the teambuilder; Garchomp still passes as valid in both Pokebank OU and pre-bank OU, as do other Pokemon that appear "banned" such as Alolan Muk and Alolan Marowak.
